Our services include fire prevention, emergency response, search and rescue, and community education. We are dedicated to protecting and serving the Flatwoods community.
FIRE PREVENTION
Our team is committed to preventing fires through inspections, community outreach, and educational programs. We work tirelessly to identify and address potential fire hazards, ensuring a safer environment for everyone.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
When emergencies strike, you can rely on our highly trained firefighters to respond swiftly and effectively. We are equipped to handle various types of emergencies, providing critical assistance when every second counts.
SEARCH AND RESCUE
In addition to firefighting, we specialize in search and rescue operations. Our team undergoes rigorous training to locate and extract individuals in distress, whether in burning buildings or other hazardous situations.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Educating the community about fire safety is a top priority for us. We conduct workshops, training sessions, and public events to raise awareness and empower individuals to take proactive measures in fire prevention and emergency preparedness.
FEDERAL FIREFIGHTER TRAININGS
Ready to answer the call? West Virginia’s Firefighter I & II trainings offer hands-on, high-impact courses to prepare you for the front lines. Firefighter I covers 120 hours of essentials—fire behavior, rescue, hazmat, and CPR—while Firefighter II builds advanced skills like vehicle extrication. Offered statewide by WVPST and WVU Fire Service Extension, it’s your launchpad into the fire service.
JUNIOR FIREFIGHTING?
Becoming a junior firefighter in West Virginia is a great way for teens to build skills, gain confidence, and serve their communities. You'll learn fire safety, teamwork, and leadership—all while getting a head start on a future in emergency services.
